Veterinary medicine is the application of medical, diagnostic, and therapeutic principles to companion, domestic, exotic, wildlife, and production animals.

Veterinary Science is vital to the study and protection of animal production practices, herd health and monitoring spread of widespread disease.
FEED ADDITIVES
A feed additive is a food supplement for farm animals that cannot get enough nutrients from regular meals. Such additives include vitamins, amino acids, fatty acids, and minerals. In some cases, if an animal does not have some specific nutrition in its diet, it may not grow properly. The nutritional values of animal feeds are influenced not only by their nutrient content, but also by many other factors. These include feed presentation, hygiene, digestibility, and effect on intestinal health. Even with all of the benefits of higher quality feed, most of a farm animal's diet still consists of maize, wheat, and soybean meal because of the higher costs of quality feed.
FEED SUPPLEMENTS
Feed supplements are phosphate, calcium and trace mineral mixtures that can be given to grazing animals during the dry or rainy season. They supplement grazing when it is deficient in minerals and trace minerals.

DISINFECTANTS
Disinfectants are antimicrobial agents that are applied to the surface of non-living objects to destroy microorganisms that are living on the objects.

Disinfection does not necessarily kill all microorganisms, especially resistant bacterial spores; it is less effective than sterilization, which is an extreme physical and/or chemical process that kills all types of life.

Disinfectants are also different from biocides — the latter are intended to destroy all forms of life, not just microorganisms. Disinfectants work by destroying the cell wall of microbes or interfering with their metabolism.
